A Note From: Professor Martin Webber, Chair of the 2019 Organising Committee

We look forward to welcoming you to the United Kingdom for the 9th International Conference on Social Work in Health and Mental Health in 2019.

Held in the historic city of York, the conference will provide delegates with ideas and inspiration about shaping the future for social work in health and mental health services in their own country. Drawing upon expertise from across the world, the conference will showcase the best social work research and practice innovations to inspire and excite delegates with new ideas and creative possibilities.

Social workers promote human rights and social perspectives in health and mental health. Through conference presentations and site visits, this conference will draw together people who use services, practitioners, managers, researchers and educators to gain insights into leading social work practice and research in the UK and across the world.

The conference programme will also provide opportunities for exploring the cultural heritage of the city of York, the beautiful county of North Yorkshire and the vibrant cosmopolitan city of London (just 2 hours by train).
